By bus

CTM, the national coach company, and private bus lines connect Tangier with Chefchaouen. Timetables change with the season, so check them at the bus station or on the company’s own website a day ahead, and buy the return at the same time if you can. For a day there and back the return time is the weak point: if the bus you planned on is full, the fallback is a taxi.

By grand taxi

Grand taxis are the large shared taxis that run between Moroccan towns. They leave when every seat is taken, or you can pay for all the seats and leave when you want.
