Prices and what is included
The from-price is only part of the day. Lunch, tickets and tips decide what you spend in total.
The lowest from-prices on this site usually belong to the shared minibus days from Fes, the highest to the private tours from Spain. In between the price follows three things: whether a guide is included, whether lunch is, and whether a ferry is part of the day. The trips to Chefchaouen never include lunch, while most of the ferry days from Spain do.
Price bands by type of trip

What a guide adds
From Tangier the transfers without a guide and the guided trips sit close together, as the first two rows of the table show; the combinations with Tetouan or Akchour cost more because the day is longer and a guide comes along at the second stop. From Fes only 3t Travel adds a short guided walk, and only on its private and small-group options.
Costs on the day
| Chefchaouen trips | Ferry days from Spain | |
|---|---|---|
| Lunch | Pay yourself | Mostly included |
| Drinks with lunch | Pay yourself | Extra |
| Entry tickets | Extra from Fes | Varies by trip |
Tips are listed as not included by JEFF TRANSPORT, 3t Travel, VDT, Amranitours and OMAR BAITAR. On the Tarifa trips the camel ride is part of the private tour by said tangier tours and an extra fee on site with Naturanda; Viajes Travelsur includes one of the two Hercules caves and the synagogue, and the second cave costs extra. In Tangier itself, the Xauen Travel & Tours trips to Cap Spartel and Asilah leave the cave and cape tickets to you. Bring dirham in cash for all of this: 3t Travel writes that many shops and cafés in Chefchaouen do not take cards.
When the option sets the price
Several listings offer quite different versions under one title. VDT prices each of its pickup points on the Costa del Sol as a separate option; this site shows €163 for the pickup in Málaga. APARTRIP TRAVELS starts at €234 with the option where you meet the guide at Tarifa port on your own; a private pickup from your hotel on the Costa del Sol is a different, more expensive option. 3t Travel prices its Fes trip by group size, and most of the trips from Tangier offer a private option next to the shared one. Before you compare two prices, check that both are for the option you would book.
Free cancellation
Every trip on this site lists free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, so you can book early and still change plans if the weather or the ferry gets in the way.
Travellers on value for money
Some reviewers praise the value for money directly, others the guides, the drivers and a more comfortable van. One transfer guest learned only later that the local guide who met them in town cost extra, so ask before you set off with one.
“Very nice tour overall, the driver was very polite and nice, offered enough time for our small group to explore all the sites and brought us to the local guide in Chefchaouen who was really good. Excellent service and value for money overall.”
“… the drive to the city was fine. My issue is that as soon as we arrived the driver introduced us to his friend who then started showing us around and beckoning us over when we would wonder away a little. The driver did not inform us that this was an extra cost but informed another group that were …”
“It is a brilliant day out and great value for money. We have done the trip 4 times now, with various family members, and they have all said what a great day out it is.”
“Great! The second part of the journey was more comfortable as it was a van, instead of a car. Both drivers were very friendly and accommodating!”
“We had an amazing day together with our guides Ayoub and Aziz. They were friendly and really helpful. The camel ride at the beach was also great, we took a lot of pictures. Asilah is really a beautiful city, I reccomend visiting it.”
“From booking the reservation to leaving Tangier, there was great communication and professionalism. Khalid our tour guide ensured that we had a fun and informative day. If you want a private tour of Tangier, I would not hesitate to book this tour.”

FAQ
What is the cheapest way to see Chefchaouen on a day trip?
The shared minibus days from Fes have the lowest from-prices on this site, but the drive is about four hours each way. From Tangier the transfers without a guide are the cheapest option.
Is lunch included on the day trips?
Not on the trips to Chefchaouen, from Tangier or from Fes. Most ferry days from Spain include lunch, with drinks extra; the private tours by said tangier tours and APARTRIP TRAVELS do not.
Do I need cash on the day?
Yes. Lunch, drinks, entry tickets and tips are often paid on the spot, and many shops and cafés in Chefchaouen do not take cards. Dirham are the safe choice; Baleària notes that many places in Tangier take euros, though not every shop takes cards.
Why is the price on the booking page higher than on this site?
The from-price is the cheapest option of a tour. A different pickup point, a private option or a larger group size can cost more, and prices also move with the date.
